Bourdon Gauges

Bourdon gauges are mechanical devices that accurately measure the pressure of liquids, gases, and vapors across industries. They can measure pressure within a wide range, depending on the type and design of the gauge. The pressure value provided by Bourdon pressure gauges can be used for process control, safety monitoring, and equipment maintenance, among other things. This makes them a popular choice for various pressure measurement needs. The Transmitter Shop stocks and delivers high-quality, performance-driven Bourdon pressure gauges at competitive prices. These gauges are available in a variety of configurations.

How Do Bourdon Gauges Work?

The Bourdon gauges work on the principle of the elasticity of the metal. The gauge has a curved, flattened tube. This tube is made of flexible material, such as stainless steel or brass, with an elliptical or circular cross-section. One tube end is closed, and the other is connected to the pressure source. When pressure is applied, the tube straightens out slightly. This causes the shape of the tube to move in a circular motion, which is then transferred to a pointer that shows the pressure on a calibrated scale. The amount of the tube movement is proportional to the pressure applied. Thus, calibrating the gauge makes it possible to accurately measure the pressure within a specified range. Bourdon gauges can be designed to measure pressure in multiple units such as pounds per square inch (PSI), bar, or kilopascals (kPa).

Beneficial Features of Bourdon Gauges

Our Bourdon pressure gauges have gained immense popularity owing to their beneficial features. Some of them are listed below.

  • Our Bourdon gauges guarantee stability and digital precision that is unmatched in various industrial segments. They offer quick and precise readings and hence used to monitor pressure changes in real time.
  • They are well-recognized for mechanical simplicity and do not require any external power sources.
  • Our Bourdon gauges are easy to install, operate, and maintain. This makes them a cost-effective solution for many pressure measurement applications.
  • Our Bourdon industrial gauges are made using high-quality materials like brass or stainless steel. Thus, they can withstand harsh environments. Also, they can operate in a wide range of pressures and temperatures.
  • These gauges are resistant to corrosion and wear.
  • They can be mounted in any orientation based on the application need.
  • Our Bourdon gauges require minimal maintenance, with only periodic calibration and inspection to ensure proper operation. They are relatively less susceptible to electromagnetic interference and subsequent failure than electronic pressure sensors.
  • We offer attractive pricing on bulk purchases.

Applications of Bourdon Gauges

Here are some typical applications of our Bourdon pressure gauges:

  • Automotive: Our pressure gauges are used to measure pressure in tires, fuel systems, and other automotive components.
  • Medical: They have also been used in medical equipment such as ventilators and anesthesia machines to monitor pressure.
  • Industrial: These gauges monitor the pressure in pipelines, tanks, boilers, and other equipment.
  • Aviation: Our gauges can monitor the pressure in hydraulic, fuel, and other critical components.
